The Power of Our Mind

When I was younger, I always tried to compare myself and compete with others. I failed so many times I can’t count. I used to think why they could succeed and I couldn’t. “Was something wrong to me?”. From “Was something wrong to me” to “I’m not good enough”. From “I’m not good enough” to “I’m not pretty enough”. From this to a series of negative thoughts I can’t even count. 

I cried my eyes out yesterday. I’m telling this NOT to make you guys feel bad or empathize with me or anything. That shit was real. Well, do you know what I realize? Your thoughts can change everything. Why did I cry? People took advantage of me. And whose fault is that? Me! I let people do that to me. And yes, it hurts and I keep forgiving them. How does this change things? Is this thought powerful? Blaming myself? YES! IT IS! I used to blame them and thought I was a victim. I was helpless. But blaming myself, deciding it is my fault changes everything. I AM THE DRIVER OF MY FUCKING LIFE! I have the control. I can control that. People took advantage of me? Okay! Next time I will not let that happen again. That mental shift helps me so much.

Our mind is more powerful than we thought. By changing my mindset, I have changed tremendously from a girl comparing herself to every successful one to someone people have to compare themselves to (not that good yet, I’m just trying to make a point here hahah). I do have some accomplishments that are well accepted by our society (the most common one is IELTS I guess? But it’s saturated now so… if you think it's not a common achievement, well it is to me, again just trying to make my thoughts more understandable lol), but the one I’m proud of is the one our society doesn’t give a fork. So what or who the hell really defines our success? Is it our society or ourselves? Well, let’s think about that later. Or maybe just figure it out yourself.

A miracle happened when I started to think differently. I stop comparing myself to everyone successful (source: Internet). With our ability to access Internet daily, I would be rich if collecting successful people’s name was a job. This is my life. I will not waste my time comparing myself to anyone else’s. Time is limited. And we all have one power that some people forget or ignore. The power to create things. Think of how wonderful it is. Okay. I wanted to have an ice cream. I ordered it on Shopee. Poof! We had an ice cream to enjoy now. Do you realize how magical it is? It was just a thought, and then turned into reality. 

It is our hidden advantage (to who are born poor but have a big dream). The power of our mind is our advantage. And the ability to create things is our gate to success. Stop trying to chase things other people have. Their journeys are different from ours. They have a different starting point. You can’t compare a person with clothes and a naked person. You don’t know what they’ve been through or what they did. Start creating your own life. Control it. Have it. Make it yours. Make it meaningful. It’s really simple. Start thinking about yourself. Focus on your road. What would make you happy? What are you passionate about?

One thing I realize is that being poor helps me love to create things to solve my own pain points, and gradually solve others’. I love to bring value to people, my closed ones or anyone in need. This is written when I’m struggling to build my second business (I’m just 20, leave me alone) to remind myself to live the way I want. I will say it louder. My mission is to bring value to people in need. Who specifically? I’ll tell you later when I successfully win my partners over.

Living the life you desire requires more than just thinking. Law of attraction only works if you take action.
