The kaleidoscopic art of fragmentation is said to be “in”
Nothing is whole, just bits and pieces struggling to create a sense of meaning
Stumbling words, unfinished verses
Symbol of a generation's broken dreams?
Resistance against the totality of narrative – whatever it means?
Or simply an indication
Of our abysmally short concentration span and destitute vocabulary?
Regardless of your commentary
Don't forget to justify it carefully
For nowadays no argument is untenable, no matter how illogical it first appears to be

Rules and conventions as obsolete
Tether – freedom of expression, creativity, individuality, so on and so forth
A genuine form of opposition at times
Other times, an excuse for bad poetry when one is stuck on rhymes.
There is all the more reason to be critical
Cynical
Skeptical
Whimsical
In a time when shit is put in a can and labelled artwork
Sold at unimaginable price of which the buyers never have to think twice

No one is to be blamed, because change and progress are all we want
First, there is -ism
But when the -ism is no longer radical enough
Post-something-ism rises to claim the stage
It lasts for a while before the post-post-something-ism bursts out of the cage
More is less, less is more, more is more, less is less
What if nothing ever is?

Ontological, metaphysical, epistemological crises
Jargons that ninety nine percent of the population frown upon
Not in reflection, but in contempt, because they don't even know what they mean.
Elitist, patronising, arrogant - they shout
Simple-minded, gullible, ignorant - the others howl back
A cacophony of disharmony
The working of democracy

How to create meaning, how to find direction
In this age of mass information
Mass communication
Mass consumption
Mass deception?
Mizaru, Kikazaru, Iwazaru
Monkeys as men, men as monkeys

The whimper announcing the end of the world
We have all heard it but pretended otherwise
For how else to justify our lack of surprise?

But what is it, this lamentation of the state of affairs
Depiction of humanity's nightmares
Without any constructive plan or resolution?
It is so much simpler to stop short at being critical
Cynical
Skeptical
Whimsical
The ultimate step to become more hypocritical

An attempt on poetry
Failure as it should be
Full of reflexivity
Of no use whatsoever
A flower in the moon, the moon in water
A Japanese saying, for chasing after unattainable goals
Trying to get through a porous message full of holes
That makes people wonder if there is any message after all

So, let's inhale deeply, aim for a clear head
And push it through another fresh attempt
Hoping for the best, that this time it may be a better failure
A sort of therapeutic exposure
That in itself is not a cure but merely...
Well, I'm not sure what it is
That's one problem with relying on the stream of consciousness technique
Then realising that your brain is made of plastique instead of gold as you fancy it.
