With love to send to Subi Jeong and Chearhan Chun
This year, 2025 it is quite special to celebrate 10 years my beloved boss mommy to come back Korea and 5 years to work with SK where I first met one of the most influenced persons in my career path. So this note is for the two most beloved and beautiful Korean women in my heart.
At the end of 2013, suddenly my ex-company changed Country General Manager and it created an opportunity for me to meet a nice and kind boss, Subi Jeong. The first time, I felt that this lady was very beautiful, however she might not be an easy-going boss, she was very powerful but also feminine. I started to work with her for forecast, budget and sales report. From time to time, I learned a lot from her and grew up. I was touched when she said that “we make a deal that you are not leaving for 16 months” and I agreed as I was happy and comfortable to work with her though sometimes, she was a demanding boss but I liked it because it was motivated me to go ahead. With me, Subi is both a boss and a senior friend. I could get advice from her easily and I studied how to live for myself, how to develop in work when talking to her. Until now, Subi is the most influencer to me in both work and life. Before coming back to Korea, Subi said to me, “Nhung please move to Finance field instead of Logistics, you should be good at this function”. I said goodbye to the nicest boss with sadness, but I promised her, I would be a Finance person. Subi taught me how to become an independent but happy woman. Every time Kimchi or Korean BBQ, I always miss Subi and the time together. It was lucky for me to meet you in my life, Subi. I am proud that there is a Korean woman always welcoming me to Seoul and buy lots of foods and cloths for me. Moreover, she also walked with me in parks, mountains and prepared gifts for me. I could say Subi, you are the most beautiful gift from God to me for the first days to join labor market.
10 years passed, I am a Finance Manager as Subi wanted, but the supporter should be included Chearhan Chun.
Though I have not worked directly with Chearhan, she always brings a feeling of friendliness and kindness when we worked through her staff. In 2019, there were 2 Korean people coming to my present company to discuss the MA deal. After 2 years, they became the major shareholder, and I have been working intensively with them since August’22. 3 years with many reports and a lot of information made me stronger in the Finance field. To work with a new team, I studied CMA to gain more knowledge and skills to meet the fast and tough demand. Thanks to this certificate, I can move fast in Finance. For the first time, I struggled but I was grateful to work with Chearhan and her staff. At the beginning there was nothing in system, now there are many things, and we have a system to serve for management review with huge data. Every due diligence now is conducted successfully and quickly. I wish to say “ thank you Chearhan from the bottom of my heart to train me to become me of today”. If Subi has guided me to follow Finance field, Chearhan helped to make what Subi said come true. First, I moved to the Strategy Department to analyze market and learn more about the pharmaceutical industry. After a year, I was promoted to be a Finance manager. Being in new position, I feel I must learn more, but I am more mature and confident in problem solving as well as not shy as I used to be. But “no party has an end”, I also said goodbye to Chearhan with regrets and imperfect as we could go together for more time. But I always think that this is the arrangement of God and we should be happy for the time together, to work and to enjoy.
I always believe that meetings are decided by God and we should meet the ones we need regardless happiness or unhappiness. Meeting and working with Subi and Chearhan could be milestones in my life. Because I love Subi as a mom in work, I liked Chearhan a lot when I firstly met her as I found the characteristics of Subi in her. Chearhan is more modern than Subi but they all are very strong and kind to me. Hence, I thank to God for these arrangements. Whenever or whoever I am, I always pray that Subi and Cheahran will have a happy and wonderful life as you are deserved for it.
