Forging a smile in the face of obvious danger is being overly Optimistic, not Positive. We tend to use these two words interchangeably; they are different. One is an attitude towards the future, the other is an approach to life.
1 - Stand up in the face of Fear:
You can physically feel Fear pressing your head down, fixing your stare dead on the ground, and yet, you still choose to move your head up, gazing directly at the eyes of darkness. Because you are finally fed up with surrendering yourself to something you don’t understand.
2 - Seek to understand:
Understand someone by inquiring into their reasonings, and you will gain kindness and clarity of mind, realizing that it is pointless to label anyone “stupid” or “smart” once you decide to look at them as equals.
3 - Optimize Things:
An urge to improve everything, from making a delicious coffee to finding a better solution to a Math problem to growing your relationship with others. You realize that trade-offs exist, but they are only last-resort measure when you approach any problems.
4 - Focus on solution:
What happen when things fail? Oftentimes, we blame. Anyone. Anything. But it’s not optimal. The blamee feels bad. The blamer feels exhausted. And still nothing changes. Is blaming that fun? Save that energy for things that directly matter, like an actual solution.
5 - Find something to learn from every experience:
Nothing is meaningless. If it happened, it happened for a reason. Even if you don’t like the experience itself, transform it into knowledge you can appreciate and become better.
6 - Bare your naked soul:
Not just in front of the mirror or the people you love. Everyone. Wear what you believe. Defend your belief with reasons. Ready to admit your wrongs. Replace them with better ones. Reincarnate into a better person and Repeat the process.
7 - Never give up:
It’s really just a function of how much you want something that decides if you can achieve it.
8 - Strive for a Meaning beside Self-esteem:
A Meaning that wouldn’t make you resort to assisted suicide as long as you have a functioning mind, even if your body becomes crippled and your fiance leaves you and Parisian girls stop chasing you, like some guy in a recent movie I watched.
9 - Love yourself:
Not too much to the point of being a Narcissist who denies every one of his fault, but enough to not lower yourself down for the love or acceptance of an unworthy person. Love yourself doesn’t mean telling yourself that you are perfect, but constantly doing things that make you grow.
10 - Realize that:
Right now, you are actively making choices for yourself. You don’t become Positive. You exercise Positivity.
